Thursday, July 21st, 2005大阪のBlackVeilにいってきたぁ〜！今回Bayside Jennyで行なわれ、ドイツのDas Ichっていうバンドのライブがあった。メッチャ可愛いゴス洋服をきている子がいたよ。ルーカス・スピラも写真を撮りにきていて盛り上がっていました。いつも通り、チョップのブースはバタバタだったのでトイレへ行けなかった！途中で、堀江店のバイトの子Betsyチャンがきて、ブースの店番をしてくれて、助かった。有り難う！
OooooOOOOooh! Too spooky to even type! I’m your host(ess) with the most(… um.. est?) Countess Chocula! Following up on Osaka’s largest Goth event, Black Veil! This year featured a live performance from German group Das Ich, Japanese style Satanic orgies, DJ Taiki, and the gothiest Japanese girls ever. Custom costumes, piercing, tattooers, and special effects gurus were on hand for this year’s event held at the Bayside Jenny. Lukas Zpira even made an appearence to shoot photos! The Chopstick booth stayed plenty busy with talk of tattoos and our new postcard collection. Special thanks to Betsy from the Horie shop for giving me a ladies-room break!
イベントの為、準備する事も特別なイベントと感じた。途中で、９歳天才美少女がきて、化粧をやってくれた！
Getting ready for the event was an event in itself. Were it not for the kindness of a wandering 9 year old, I might never have finished my spooktacular makeup on time!

新作品とうとうできあがりぃ！途中のやつはありすぎと思って、初アクリルの絵を無理矢理終わらした。油のほうが楽だと思うけどなぁ。アクリルは苦手やけどやってみないとやろぅ？チョップのギャラリーで見れるでぇ。あの途中のやつは完成出来たら、ぜひ見てコメント頂戴！
Finally the come! The new works it is the update of it to the new life in happy peace time for everyday enjoyment!
Or, in English, new work ahoy! I have about 4 or 5 paintings in progress, but since they’re oil, it’ll be awhile before I post them. This was my first attempt at acrylic, which turned out to be a lot harder than I thought. Let me know what you think!

Ok, it’s not the cover, and technically, it is only a drawing for an ad on the back cover… but it was still a nice surprise! Thanks definitely are in order for Brett and all the folks at Pulse Tattoo. Yes, I swear I’ll finish a flash set for you soon! This issue features some incredible artists - a very humbling experience. There is such a wide range of incredible talent out there. Don’t believe me? Pick up a copy of a 10 year old tattoo rag from America and look at the feature pieces… those pieces would probably be flat out rejected by today’s standards of tattooing. It’s no wonder that this profession is a lifelong committment.
今日、TattooArtistの新刊が届いた！今月の裏表紙にのっているPulse広告のイラストを描いた。（有難う、ブレットさん！ーもうそろそろフラッシュセットを送るで〜！）大分前だったので本物を見て、ちょっとビビった。今月の特集にはいろんなうまい人の作品がのっている。本当に自分もスキルアップしないと！これを１０年前のタトゥー雑誌と比べたら全然ちゃうな！多分、亜米利加にはその時代の写真を今の出版社に入行したら、断れるなぁ。今日も絵を描こうぅ〜！

…especially not when they take home the grand prize at the SaraPop Erotic Cosplay Event in Umeda within 5 minutes of entering the premises! Yiiiii! Take that you bastards! Of course without the help of a professional hollywood makeup artist, generous financial backing, and corporate sponsorship from Osaka’s most perverted CEOs, none of this might have ever happened. So as you can see from the picture, my costume was pretty much a sugary 5-year-old wedding cake on crack with plenty of cuban cigars for accessories. What, did it fool you, or did the full-body tattoo give it away? My competition for the night was Hideki Tojo.
I suppose I could insert some “artist statement” here about challenging entrenched gender roles, etc. but it’s just easier to admit that I’m a hentai of the highest order.
優勝！先週のSaraポップのコスプレイベントに参加して、優勝出来た〜！感動感動！この俺様、御目出度う！しかし、自分の力だけではない！全身刺青が入っているのにプロのメークをやっている人のおかげでなんとなく女の子っぽくみえたかも。Dawnチャン、優勝の半分はおまえのもんや！ドレスとアクセサリーはAngelic Prettyや。そういえば、このコスはちょっとすごくない？でっかいケーキみたい。また今度、このままで三角公園でチョップのパンフをくばろうか？みたら声をかけてね。変態カメラマンも来いよ！夜露死苦！
